I was taking a look at the Women's World Championship photos (from https://web.facebook.com/WomensSnooker), and I love so much this one from Bai & Narucha before the U21 final, gotta be the cutest snooker picture ever 😁 🥰
This and a bunch of others are really nice to show also the cool social gathering aspect of such a big tournament.
And many great ones from people playing of course, if my arm collaborates, I'll try later to practice my drawing with a few of them as reference.
Noel (on the left) didn't play his best but still got to the final, in his speech he highlighted that Igor should've more support from sponsors and be competing abroad as the tourneys here are mostly out of love for the sport, there's little prize fund.
He also apologized for being rude to the commentator, a friend of his, and gave his trophy to him, which was a nice moment. I dunno what the issue was, but it's implied to be about noise. Btw, the commentator also played and is a ref. 2/3
No surprises in the Open Brasil #snooker Igor Figueiredo played very well and won comfortably, it was a pleasure to watch 😀 . In the photo he's with his wife and the trophies for 1st place and highest break (120).
And a correction: It seems that for the qualification spots (Q Tour Europe, Pan-American, BR championship) there's still a second leg to be played in July to take into consideration, which wasn't mentioned in the tournament description and got me confused. 1/3
It's so interesting how the camera set up can give a total different impression about the #snooker table size. In the Women's WC it looked so huge! (the players being shorter in height was a factor ofc, but not the most relevant) And in the Championship League, on the other hand, it looked super small and almost squared.
I was so fascinated by the women's WC angle that I made this #drawing, but I'm posting also 2 screenshots for an actual fair comparison.
