No surprises in the Open Brasil #snooker Igor Figueiredo played very well and won comfortably, it was a pleasure to watch 😀 . In the photo he's with his wife and the trophies for 1st place and highest break (120).

And a correction: It seems that for the qualification spots (Q Tour Europe, Pan-American, BR championship) there's still a second leg to be played in July to take into consideration, which wasn't mentioned in the tournament description and got me confused. 1/3

Noel (on the left) didn't play his best but still got to the final, in his speech he highlighted that Igor should've more support from sponsors and be competing abroad as the tourneys here are mostly out of love for the sport, there's little prize fund.

He also apologized for being rude to the commentator, a friend of his, and gave his trophy to him, which was a nice moment. I dunno what the issue was, but it's implied to be about noise. Btw, the commentator also played and is a ref. 2/3

The other semifinalists were Fabinho (lost 4-1 to Igor), who's a fine player and very well regarded, and Gabriel Callas (lost 4-0 to Noel), he was the surprise of the tourney, defeated Itaro (3-1).

One common issue is that snooker isn't very popular here, so most people divide their time with other games (our local versions of pool, Brazilian snooker, American pool, etc.). Igor himself played many local pool events last year, which is cool, but makes our snooker level suffer a bit. 3/3
