Every time I post objective info about #COVID19, some idiot responds with a variation of “What do you expect us to do, isolate forever?” or “Do you expect society to shut down?”

Black-or-white strawmen arguments drive me crazy. There is a world of things we can do between “pretend COVID doesn't exist” and “lock ourselves away forever.” In fact, if we did those things--safe air in public places, masks & behavior changes when COVID surges--we could control COVID & save the health of millions.

I'm looking into #ttrpg systems other than #dnd and I'm interested in Kids on Bikes, but there don't seem to be any published adventures for it. Does anyone know of any?
It’s no secret why the GOP is gutting the Office of Congressional Ethics. This is just the start of what will be an unashamedly pro-corruption, anti-democracy House majority.
Disney has hotels based on family movies, like a Star Wars hotel and experience, and one with Disney characters. Where are those for adults? Like, I want a lousy motel themed like The Big Lebowski, or a little hotel in the jungle where the Predator makes wake-up calls. Where are those?
The scariest thing about coming from a family of alcoholics is that I've been very depressed and I had a drink today—and it made me feel a hell of a lot better. I know better. I've never been drunk and I never have more than 1 drink. But if I didn't know about that family history or the negative relationship with depression and alcohol, I probably would have had a problem. #Addiction is a rough thing, and this time of year is rough for many. If you're struggling, hang in there.

Seriously though, fedi was *built* by furries, trans and queer folk, disabled neurodivergent people.

This is *the reason* the culture here is what it is. Why CWs are a thing. Why image descriptions are a thing. Why privacy matters here. Why moderation tools not only exist, but are usable — and used.

If you had joined and asked yourself "wow, how come this place is so chill and kinda… nice?" — that's thanks to all the nice people from communities some people call "weird".

So #KeepFediWeird.

Is there anywhere to order, like, a pound of sauteed garlic for dinner?

When you say, "oh, those weren't Christians," it's a way for you to dismiss the fact that you are part of a significant world and national hegemony that has had real implications and consequences for many of us.

It's a way to pretend you don't have privilege that you do have.

Oh no you don’t…
one thing I really want people to understand is that you can still be a joyful person while also living with a mental illness.
