@siracusa found a use for ~/Applications – new job, doesn't have a good handle on Mac permissions, so I can't install apps in /Applications, but it will let me install + run apps in ~/Applications.

@marcoarment might be worth checking out Helium browser - chromium engine without all of the google. been using it for a few weeks and like it a lot.

@gruber I think Final Draft is more embedded in Film/TV than Word is in Publishing. Especially b/c it’s a specialized tool. Excel & Bloomberg in Finance are two more close ones.

@marcoarment you might be able to use kiosk mode and stage manager to lock the iPad to two apps. As a former restaurant worker; there are pros and cons to locking down the iPad but probably better for everyone to have it be locked down.
