Dogs and mail apps have the same short sweetness to them: we love them, they don’t stay with us forever, and then they’re gone. MailMaven is my new best friend. I hope it remains so for a long time to come. My review @sixcolors https://sixcolors.com/post/2026/04/mailmaven-review-an-email-nerds-best-friend/
MailMaven review: An email nerd’s best friend?

I don’t have a dog for the same reason it’s hard for me to get excited about email apps: the short, sweet lifespans make you love them so intensely and miss them forever when they&#8217…

We need electoral reform! 🙏

"To say 'Canadians voted for a minority' is to describe an intention that no voter expressed & no ballot could capture. It is fiction dressed as fact."

Canadians do not have a place on their ballot to vote for a party, or *for a governmrnt*. We vote locally. Only. With first-past-the-post, the governing party (often) in no way represents % of votes cast.

Ex: in Ontario, our Premier was re-elected (again 🤦‍♀️) by just 18% of eligible voters.

What a fusilli idea. He tried to rigatoni his returns. He’s no capellini (angel hair). He’ll probably be sued, too, and face a tortellini. He had gnocchi idea what he was getting into. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/us/lego-theft-pasta-california.html?unlocked_article_code=1.cFA.4JUX.-aZ58pwG_8rZ&smid=nytcore-ios-share Will he face the ultimate penalty and be sentenced to mortadella? In the Big Penne, he’ll be farfalle from freedom. He could go stool pigeon and tagliatelle everything. But he might try to escape and bucatini out of there. But he’ll probably crash the getaway car and get in an orecchiette.

Got an Aventon Level 3 Step Through! A great class of bike at the price—discount because the Level 4 has already replaced it and inventory is being sold through.
I expect I’ll eventually get a Leaf. I was planning on a 2022–2024 model year (for battery warranty and features), but the CHAdeMO charging issue would be a problem if we wanted to reliably and easily use it for longer drives (we have a second car in good shape). Now I’m thinking about waiting for 2026 models to get discounted later in the year. That model switched to NACS. But they’re so expensive relative to used, maybe due to the charging issue.
