One of those “good people” who “has their shit together” and never uses “sarcastic quotation marks” as a defense mechanism to stave off the “crushing anxiety” of personal inadequacy.

Just one of those mornings.

February #solar generation has offset all but $13 worth of energy (net import 120kWh). Very happy with winter production. A little sad about $80+ worth of fees+taxes just for being connected to the grid with #netmetering enabled.

I know there's a lot of places with energy rates much worse than our $0.11/kWh so I can't really complain much. the fees seem like a lot though.

System is 22.08kWp, daily consumption is anywhere from 60-100kWh. Working on better consumption metering.

It's been a rough week for my godkids' family. I've been trying to lighten everyone else's load as Grand Kitchen Poobah. Tonight: build-your-own-fajita-or-taco.

"Why is the cooler in the bathtub?"

Me: I'm cooking a skirt steak. Don't open it.

3 hours of passive #sousvide #cooking later, a little broiling and slicing and now everyone is slightly happier, if only for a moment.

First day at 100kWh of #solar generation in Northern #minnesota. Quite a few cloudy days this month. Definitely helps that the system is ground level to brush the snow off when needed.

A lovely day on Lake of the Woods.

My #smappee #energy #monitor (circa 2014/2015) recently died. It kept falling off wifi, and now I can't get it to broadcast its internal hotspot at all even when the blinking lights say it should be in pairing mode.

Cracked it open, can't see anything obviously burnt or otherwise, so I'll probably send it off to recycling and look into a more modern solution. Maybe #esphome and that six-channel expandable monitor to log individual circuits?

Have some #circuitboard photos. Looks ARM based?

It's Alive! Somewhat. One panel not reporting in, but looks like the power optimizer wasn't connected. Easy thing to miss in the cold. Will have to get out there when it warms up in a day or two. There's also a slight covering of snow still remaining after roof-raking the array last night. Very happy I went with ground mounting.

Thanks again to #TruNorthSolar for their hard work. (I don't believe they're on the fediverse yet.)

December 8: Crowned Beast Saperavi.

Was a nice red. Never heard of this grape before, but will have to look for it in the future.

December 9: Pinky Truce Vino Rosato.

For some reason I expect rosé to be sweet, but this was light and tart. Was a pleasant surprise.

December 7: Proper Etiquette Chenin Blanc.

I generally expect white wines to be sweeter, but this one is on the dry side but still kind of crisp? Maybe reminds me of a tart apple.
