Did things in messaging, #security, #identity, #privacy, #policy, #law for places you've probably heard of. Ambivalent on the Oxford Comma, but death on the Grocer’s Apostrophe.

Posts are on a six month autodelete. I have been way chattier than the remaining posts suggest.

I'm #neurodivergent #ActuallyAutistic, and I'm interested in #FountainPens
#WorldOfWarcraft #LEGO #coffee and
#DuolingoIrish.

Oops. I bumped my Yubikey whie moving my machine. It appears to have boosted content, and I'm trying to see if it did anything else with this tab open. 🙄

Still trying to wrap my mind around mentioning Billie Holiday and having a millennial unironically ask, "Who's that?"

Am I actually that old? I mean, Billie Holiday??? Meh.

One last thing before I go touch grass for sanity restoration: "Hey, there's a link for a topic I want to know about. Oops, it's a video blog entry. Nope, nope, nope."

Seriously. I read way faster than you talk, and my own internal voice does not annoy me.

I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:

  • Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
  • Anything that's invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
  • Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things.
  • Nobody needs AI to search the Internet, court says in ruling against Google

Google AI Overview court loss in Germany could spell doom for AI search industry.

Hah. When my rant looked like a manifesto, I asked myself, "Do I think anyone wants to read yet another take on this?" Probably not.
It feels pretty validating when your senior cat leaves the sunbeam she's in to leap up and say good morning to you.
