Did things in messaging, #security, #identity, #privacy, #policy, #law for places you've probably heard of. Ambivalent on the Oxford Comma, but death on the Grocer’s Apostrophe.

Posts are on a six month autodelete. I have been way chattier than the remaining posts suggest.

I'm #neurodivergent #ActuallyAutistic, and I'm interested in #FountainPens
#WorldOfWarcraft #LEGO #coffee and
#DuolingoIrish.

I love it when I can justify geeky purchases because they support a cause.

update: it wasn't that bad. I guess blood thinners make smallish cuts more spectacular than they are. New bandages and leaving it alone.

I'm a grown man sitting here with bandaids on both thumbs. One wasn't my fault. I caught my thumb on a damaged screw on the deadbolt, and it was sharp. I've taken it out and filed that edge down to avoid doing it again.

The second injury was when I was trying to slice the heel of a baguette. Slightly stale baguette, sharp knife, a big push on an angle, and my hand slipped. Nothing to go to the ER over, but I knew immediately I done goofed up. It was a two-bandaider. I'm not looking forward to changing the bandage and looking at it.

I've talked myself into a circle on my refusal to buy housing stuff for real cash in #WorldOfWarcraft. The principle isn't that I won't spend real money for virtual items, as I've spent real money for in-game content like faction/race changes, the fiery motorcycle mount, etc. I don't do that often, and I don't do it impulsively.

Over time, I have continually enjoyed the things I've spent on, so I feel validated that I didn't "waste" the money any more than you waste money renting a movie for your enjoyment. In that sense, I've spent far less on these items than someone would on regular nights out.

Maybe it's just that housing in-game hasn't proved itself to be more than a throw-it-at-the-wall-and-see-if-it-sticks feature yet. Housing and neighborhoods have been ghost towns so far, and having the coolest grave in the graveyard doesn't change the fact that everyone's dead there. (I'll keep working on that analogy.)

Getting a significant uptick in suspicious/malicious PDF spam, all some flavor of "here's your order" to various mailboxes I have.
I'd like to thank the woman who demoed eating Cheetos with chopsticks to avoid getting powder on her fingers. I'm using a set of silicone tongs, but same concept and I'm not getting any of this chili lime dust on my electronics.
Hmm. House cameras (not Ring) captured a substitute postal carrier attempting to enter my home a few days back. Post office annex responded with a real human, direct number and email, and they wanted my video. It showed them it was a real postal carrier, and he had clearly turned the handle, which made the supervisor reportedly frown and escalate it. I don’t know what the corrective action will be, or how much they can let me know, but your postal carrier should not be doing that.
Eesh. This rain is biblical. If I see an ark go by... Imma wave, let it pass, and call it good.
I blame the internet for making me have to look up what an Andy was. Context was in Wow, playing a transmog costume game, and someone was apparently mad because... people were trying to win and had cooler costumes? That's not an Andy, that's the entire point of the exercise.
The Why Chuck Norris Is An Icon jokes are my oldest surviving email thread. In honor of his passing, I've just forwarded them again to my brother in the latest installment of a back-and-forth we've been doing for over twenty years.
