My Facebook account was thoroughly hacked and I'm having trouble getting things resolved. This might be an opportunity to switch to a different platform for Facebooky stuff. Any advice from anyone in the Fediverse? (If anyone even sees this post I will be a little surprised...)

My Mastodon transition looks a lot like my former Twitter presence. I don't use it very much, perhaps because I've resigned myself to the fact that pretty much everyone in the world has little interest in what I had for breakfast (nothing, because breakfast happens too early) or other day-to-day stuff like that.

I'm not at all interested in watching 45 minutes of barely coherent wack-a-doodle nonsense that purports to be of vital interest if you can't be bothered to type words and sentences and stuff explaining what it is.

If you think that "Rockin' in the Free World" is a song about being a patriotic American, you might want to look at the lyrics. Then you can crack up when it plays as political candidates walk on stage, as it's highly unlikely that they are trying to convey the same message.
