Product-oriented #iOS developer with an appetence for UX/UI design
SwiftUI -> Swift Concurrency -> SwiftData kind of buried my perennial WWDC enthusiasm under an avalanche of reality. After the last four years, my hands are full of technologies that I eagerly anticipated but are tiring or impossible to hold right. This is the first year I don’t feel guilty for not being excited and that’s progress for me.
A series of decisions were made at Mini which resulted in what is unambiguously the worst indicator design of all time. It is so bad that after seeing it on the street, I just had to post about it here.

@dimsumthinking I’ve got the same setup. In the past, I’ve been able to add my dev account as another iCloud account in System Settings -> Internet Accounts. Then my Mac is a trusted device and gets all the 2FA popups. You can disable all the services on the secondary iCloud account so it doesn’t show up anywhere else on your Mac.
@mikaelacaron @twostraws @swiftovercoffee I'd argue more important than any programming skill: communication. If you can't share and impart information effectively and clearly, you’ll struggle with everything else.

my new icon set, bubbles, is finally out now. my goal with these was to take certain elements of the older iOS icons and other elements of the newer ones and merge them into something different and interesting.

i'm a designer, currently a sophomore at carnegie mellon.

here's an animation emulating what it's like to see motion on high-framerate monitors!

the video is 60 fps, but I've used temporal supersampling to add the frames you would see, if your monitor was of a higher framerate

it's not 100% accurate of course, it looks more like motion blur here than it would on an actual high-framerate display, but hopefully it gives you an idea of the smoothness of higher refresh rates

Already sick of seeing this? Go to Settings > General > Keyboard, then scroll all the way down and change the Stickers toggle to off.
Xcode 15 tip: you can hide this noise from Apple’s frameworks that you can’t do anything about by right-clicking > Hide Similar Items > and choose the library or subsystem. Took me too long to realize that
The busy bank of the Seine in Paris. This used to be space for cars, now for several years it’s been a special place for people. All it took was leadership. Oh, and fighting and winning a court battle when that leadership was challenged. HT @EmmanuelSPV for pic.
