When I was new to linux (and linux was new to the world), xv was the only tool that had a GUI for navigating files. For me and my merry band of unix newbies, it was the way we deleted files created by accident with names like " “, “?” and everyone's favorite “:q!”. And it was the only app we used that showed actual _graphics_ in a world full of text windows.

PSA: If you’re thinking of moving from 1Password to Apple Passwords -- you know, for reasons -- the 1Password iOS app supports the new Credential Exchange standard and can send the data directly to Apple Passwords, including passkeys! But only on iOS.
