I can't stop thinking about it. One was prosecuted by the US for downloading copyrighted data from 1 source for noble purposes, and committed suicide to avoid prison. The other is widely celebrated for doing this on a much larger scale*.

Y’all know what this #WordPress kerfuffle means, right? We need to wake good ol’ #Textpattern from its long slumber. It’s been lying in waiting, carefully maintained, ready for a resurrection.
It was the reason I never got on the WP train back in the early aughts. Textpattern just jived much more with my web sensibilities. And Dean Allen was a mf’ing king.

Someone should train a code-generating LLM on the trove of Geocities websites so it always spits out font tags, table layouts and dancing baby dot gif.
