@drgroftehauge this is a TER (local train). They have no seat reservations and theoretically never sell out.

@jaj yes, and also keep in mind that this is not an isolated incident. MOST trains were "sold out" this weekend in the ENTIRE region. And this happens EVERY first weekend of the month.

@interrailinfosvenska Aside from this special situation with the 1 euro tickets, it's also pretty common for SNCF to close all sales when they think just a part of the route will be full. In your example, if the train was originating from, say, Toulouse, and it was full for the first 2 stations, it'd be "sold out" all the way to Portbou.

@interrailinfosvenska in my case I could buy it on the TER website but not SNCF connect, a week ago already. But the next day they were sold out absolutely everywhere

I asked the train manager why this empty train is sold out. The answer is the 200 of the 600 seats in this train are sold at 1 euro this weekend (LiO promotion weekend), and once those are sold out, tickets can still be bought at the normal price, but only from him directly.
So two thirds of the tickets are never offered online? And this is normal?

Today's train picnic is humus with naan, some leftover and radishes from the garden.

Very comfortable in this (I'm assuming) former first class carriage.

Welcome to train LiO 86975, which just left Toulouse Matabiau and with final destination Portbou. There were ticket checks at the platform entrance and also a security agent counting passengers. The part of the train that I am in consists of 3 carriages, and there are 3 passengers total, including me.

This train has been "Fully Booked" since Monday, on all online platforms. Impossible to buy a ticket.

@bovine3dom In Occitanie, during the 1-euro-ticket weekends (like the upcoming one), knowing the platform earlier than the rest makes the difference between having a seat or standing for hours 😅

@bovine3dom Aha, OK. I misunderstood and I thought that the prediction was static. And then in this case it was still showing the prediction just as an indication whether it was predicted correctly or not.
