Today is a special day as Wendy the DBJUNGLESKOG and I have been invited by Renfe to try out their new international service to La Rochelle. I’ve been itching to talk about this for weeks, as it’s a game changer - a partial high speed service not going through Paris!

Renfe have gone all out on this service, they’re putting a couple of their flagship S106 trains on the route, which were repainted for the occasion with a French and Spanish on the power car, and the phrases “juntos somos más/nous sommes les mieux” underneath.
I even managed to blag a Prémium ticket, which means I get to sit in the ultra-comfy Confort seats, and try the new menu by Spanish TV chef Karlos Arguiñano — I’m looking forward to his signature Pescaito Frito. As La Région de Nouvelle-Aquitaine is partly subsidising this service, there will be a pairing of Bordeaux wines to go with it.

Det blir spansktillverkade lok och vagnar som kommer att rulla i nattågstrafiken mellan Stockholm och norra Sverige från 2030. Under tisdagen fick det spanska företaget Talgo besked av Trafikverket att de ska leverera 10 lok och 51 vagnar till ett värde av 5,5 miljarder kronor.
Jon WorthOn #CrossBorderRail earlier this week I saw this TGV on test, and immediately scrambled to work out what it was! It's a new SNCF brand, the TGV MaxOui - taking the OUIGO brand to the max, I suppose?
Based on what I found out, each TGV will have 20 carriages, and a capacity of over 1600 passengers!
