PSA: @apolaine and I have seen an uptick in bot-generated spam accounts on the server recently. We've banned the accounts, but we've also decided to institute approval-based registrations for now.
Anyone wanting to sign up to pkm.social will now need to submit a request to join, and then have that request manually approved by one of the moderators (that's Andy, me, or @leah). This is purely to keep pkm.social spam-free-- all real people are still welcome!

oh my good god
it took me 20 years to discover this option in macOS Finder
for decades i've fought with finder never sizing the column width to the width of the filename, which means i manually click and drag the column slider wider. i'd had to do this tens of thousands of times.
on a whim today, i right clicked on the damned column slider. *and there is an option to auto-size* ðŸ˜
"Right Size All Columns Equally" is a life changing event.
One of my favourite graphics on Wikipedia is this illustration of the maximum dimensions of a PDF page: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Seitengroesse_PDF_7.png
Correction: not the maximum size of a PDF file, but a page within a PDF file. (Thanks Uwe.)
