M'aiq thinks some books it is okay to judge by their cover. Who has time to read every book? And some it is safer not to.
not to be 'we told you so' but when disabled people said that labour were going to be just as awful to us as the tories and non-disabled people refused to believe us

In October we post scary stuff. So here you have a cute little cat.

I posted this pic to FB a few weeks into covid lockdowns, saying i was "throwing a few beers back with my buds", and one of my family members scolded me for acting irresponsibly

It's funny and ironic how when there's a post arguing about the importance of internet safety and making online spaces more welcoming for women and minorities to express themselves without harassment, almost every time someone will jump in to reply with some variation of "fragile people should stay off the internet!"

And I hate to break it to you, but if the argument that "blocking people and drawing boundaries is good and people should have tools that make them feel safer" alone is enough to rile you up and push you into a mini tantrum, you have no business commenting on anyone else's fragility.

Regular reminder that getting up in arms about someone else's boundaries is a pretty good sign that someone is engaging in abusive behavior.

And yes, being upset about allowlist only, FediBlock, or TBS are all examples of this.

Never have I seen a group of people more determined to continue harassment after being muted/blocked/banned than those who lost their minds when we started openly collectivizing our boundaries to keep each other safe. As has always been the case, reactionary behavior means we're doing something right.

we don't call people who leave social media websites refugees, just as a reminder, that's not what being a refugee is. deleting an account on a social media website is not what being a refugee is. it's not cute or funny.
