Alt account: https://freeradical.zone/@beep. I kept finding and following people on infosec.exchange and decided to just create an account here as well so my Local is made up of all of you.

I've spent the last 15+ years working in legal tech. Mostly ediscovery and running/maintaining an in-house document review platform along with supporting the legal teams using it. Occasionally play sales engineer. Some forensics early on but recently more involved on the network ops and security side. Really enjoying that and want to be more involved in the infosec community because I feel like that's where my path is heading. Looking forward to infosec conferences in the future and meeting people in the community.

interests: My dogs, #HamRadio #linux #3DPrinting #photography #BackyardChickens and tinkering with the kinds of things adafruit sells. Recently getting back into #cycling after ~20 years with a new gravel bike that will likely see very little actual gravel.

@ewen These make it through to inboxes on our paid google workspace accounts as well. We set up filters for them to get quarantined. Spent hours chatting to google support and they were unsurprisingly not at all helpful. It's frustrating how consistent spam isn't a solved thing.
@ohmu @culturalgutter "Five Deadly Venoms" has been my favorite for probably 35 years since I first saw it. It looks like they don't have "Buddha's Palm" up which is another favorite of mine. Same with "Clan of the White Lotus" and "Flying Guillotine". Generally 70s SB is my favorite and then some 80s where they got a bit weird.
@LovesTha Probably not the ideal solution but I bought one of the boxy looking digital torque wrench adapters that has a wider and taller range. I can use it on the bikes as well as cars and other stuff. For ~$35 it was cheaper than continually buying additional torque wrenches. I've only needed it once so far so no idea on it'll hold up over time.

@LovesTha It's the default file type for Garmin, strava, etc I think. Here's a better explanation than I can come up with:

GPX, TCX, FIT : How to choose the best file extension for sport activity transfer ?

.gpx .tcx .fit, all these file extensions are used to transfer by file a sport activity (or a track, a workout). All sport applications…

@LovesTha I've used this to fix botched saves and combine rides captured with different tools before: https://www.fitfilerepairtool.info/

Edit to add: it isn't free and it does require (last I checked) that you have MS Access. I've also used these web-based tools in the past for similar things, not sure if they'll be helpful with your problem or not:

https://tapiriik.com/
https://gotoes.org/strava/index.php
https://www.fitfiletools.com/

Mostly used for trying to get everything into one system, either by forcing things to sync or fixing a .fit file.

@moira Yeah, if I hadn't had the REI rewards I would have gone with the 9.3 but I have zero complaints with the 10.3 haha. I considered going with a cheaper option on amazon but... the REI rewards made it an easy choice to stick with Park.
@moira I've been extremely happy with mine. I have the 10.3 (also thanks to REI rewards) and it's portable enough but also definitely a tank. Only thing I need to do is a figure out some sort of setup to make working on wheels and tires off the bike a bit easier but otherwise this has drastically improved my ability to work on our bikes at home without being constantly angry.
@renudist @BritishKoalaTea I've also used blurb (and used it for photos for family/friends) and was happy with the results.

@FeloniousPunk The Master was a great bike and I loved that gold grind disc on it. I kept breaking it though and as a dirtbag teenager I didn't know enough about maintenance or repairs so I worked two jobs until I could afford the absolute tank that was the Sabbath and replaced the Master with it. I still miss the Sabbath. No way I could ride a bmx bike these days but, if I could, it would absolutely be a black mid-90s Sabbath.

Further reminiscing -- I think the first bmx bike I bought with my own money from a paper route was a Dyno Air. Broke that a bunch of times, too. Thought the Master would be stronger (it was) and saved up for it. Those three bikes were involved in most of my good memories from my teens.

@ascentale @rasterweb @bikenite

When I was a teen -- probably mid-90s and I was probably on my Haro Master or S&M Sabbath bmx bikes -- I found a cassette of Cypress Hill's "Black Sunday". Definitely the best thing I've ever found while on a bike and will always be the first thing that comes to mind of "things found while on a bike".
