#computer #program I ever wrote, not that I’ve written many since, was in 1985ish in the 7th grade I was in a computer fundamental class for a couple of weeks before I got yanked out of it because it was too crowded and dumped into an art class that I had zero propensity for and hated. Anyway we had those old Texas Instruments computers that looked something like this. I wrote a program written in Basic that given what year a person was born it would calculate how old they’d be in the year 2000, which seemed impossibly far in the future. Simple calculation of course that computed an age of 27 which I never could believe would happen. Now I’m 50.
