Let’s be clear that CWs are great. But someone existing as different from you, as a marginalized identity, does not go behind a content warning. And talking about the discrimination they experience might make you uncomfortable—trust me, when I experience racism, it’s very uncomfortable. The response is to try and do something about it, not to tell them they’re making you uncomfortable.

#Introduction

Super excited to announce my new project, DEAF FUTURITY.

This #project examines the #design and #engineering of #HearingAids , from aesthetics of 20th century devices, to new prototypes that attempt to redesign how we think of #deafness, and deaf/tech collaborations.

This probably describes me better than any intro

Here's my #Introduction
I'm Will, a historian mainly of France, mainly from 18th-20th century, and (at the moment) mainly of witchcraft. I'm also particularly interested in creative forms of history making. My last book was a collaboration with a poet and a theatre-maker.

This is my second stab at a Mastodon (and should be redirecting followers etc from scholar.social).

Hello! #introduction #histmed #histodon #histodons #arthistory #art #photohist

I'm @/slobogin on Twitter, but here I am now as well I guess! I mostly post about my writing and my podcasts in the medical humanities and the history of visual culture.

An article I wrote on plastic surgery photography, color, and British nationalism was just published in Visual Culture in Britain!

Hello! I’m an historian of medicine and gender in modern Ireland. I’m a senior lecturer at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. My most recent project looked at contraception in modern Ireland and I’m also interested in histories of activism particularly in relation to reproductive & sexual health. I’m originally from Galway and have a very spoilt cat called Cassie. #introduction #histodons
One of the many things I do is run a Wellcome Trust funded network called ‘MedEnv: Intersections in Medical and Environmental Humanities’.
