This is Ned.

Ned is handmade.

Ned is unique - there will only ever be one Ned.

Ned is made from scraps that would otherwise be thrown away - he’s economical with materials.

Ned is tangible (and he has a fluffy tail).

Ned is unpolished and imperfect.

Ned is the product of imagination.

Ned makes me smile.

Ned is everything I believe we lose when we accept Generative AI into our lives.

Ned is me venting my frustration.

Ned is a small protest.

Everyone just went to the cloud because they were sick of their fingers getting pinched by these fuckers.

Here are some free knitting patterns featuring the DNA double helix and chromosomes.

Danish citizens have launched an online petition, signed by 200,000 people, to purchase California. The petition notes that purchasing the Golden State would provide Danes with more sunshine, dominance in the tech industry, limitless avocado toast, and easy access to Disneyland. In return, California would get the rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.

Can they buy Wisconsin, please? I'd take that offer! 😆

EFF Sues DOGE and the Office of Personnel Management to Halt Ransacking of Federal Data

EFF and a coalition of privacy defenders have filed a lawsuit asking a federal court to block Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing the private information of millions of Americans that is stored by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and to delete any data that has been collected or removed from databases thus far.

@dch As a juvenile at the end of the 1970s I had a hobby of collecting broken TV sets and repairing them. At that time it was usual that TV sets had a schematic diagram shipped within the housing that oftenly was still in them when they got throws away. Those diagrams had voltage values and example oscilogram diagrams in it to help repairing. The makers spent a lot of effort to ease repairing.
