Senators worry that EA, which just released Battlefield 6 last week and also publishes The Sims, Madden, and EA Sports FC, “would cease exercising editorial and operational independence under the control of Saudi Arabia’s private majority ownership.”

‘The proposed transaction poses a number of significant foreign influence and national security risks.’

maybe we just start thinking of it more as a Trolley OPPORTUNITY

Important to note that Christopher Caldwell, the guy who gets to defend Hegseth’s rabidly bigoted, sexist speech in the New York Times, wrote a whole book about how the Civil Rights Act constitutes an illegitimate departure from the Constitution.

So, of course he is on board with imposing white male domination.

Last month Judge Diane Goodstein ruled against the Trump regime, and blocked the State of South Carolina from giving millions of voter data files to the DOJ.

Last week Harmeet Dhillon of Trump's DOJ openly condemned Judge Goodstein's ruling in a tweet.

Yesterday Trump lackey Stephen Miller called "left wing judges & lawyers" as "terrorists" requiring force to rebuke.

Now this is Judge Goodstein's home, on fire, and being investigated for arson.

Probably just a coincidence.

Street improvements in Southside, one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in the country, are now complete!

The street space is now used like this:
1/4 for buses
1/4 for cars
1/4 for loading and parking
1/4 for bikes

Previous it was 1/2 cars, 1/2 parking, even though most people using the street used the bus, bike, or walking.

There will be a ribbon cutting this Wednesday at 11am with #Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii and Councilmember Cecilia Lunaparra https://berkeleyca.gov/community-recreation/events/southside-complete-streets-ribbon-cutting

Southside: Now safer and easier to walk, bike, take transit

Overhaul of Southside streets improves safety, ease and reliability – while connecting to city, regional bike and transit networks. On the south side of campus, you can now bicycle or scooter up, down, and across the area using bikeways protected from cars by concrete curbs and parked vehicles. On southside sections of Bancroft Way or Durant Avenue, hop on a bus, and you’ll glide through transit-only lanes with traffic signals that prioritize buses. On foot or for people using a wheelchair, raised intersections in the area not only slow traffic and increase visibility of those travelers, but they also more comfortably transition those in wheelchairs from sidewalks across streets.

FBI fires agents for kneeling during racial justice protest, AP sources say

The FBI has fired agents who were photographed kneeling during a racial justice protest in Washington that followed the 2020 death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. That’s according to three people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press. The bureau had reassigned the agents last spring but has since fired them. The FBI declined to comment. The number of FBI employees terminated was not immediately clear, but two people said it was roughly 20.

@codinghorror I served on grand jury with a libertarian.

It's a philosophy embraced by people that have never worked a day in their life.

@jonpsp @cfy @edzilla @AlisonW The two problems with any "ID card" are

(1) It opens the door to a police state, the moment the government decides that you can be stopped on the street and arrested for failing to "produce your papers". (Like happened to me in France.)

(2) It's a one stop shop for identity thieves. At the moment to assume my identity and completely fuck up all aspects of my life someone would have to break into multiple systems: with an ID card that reduces to just one.

Around a quarter of our Stop Censoring Abortion campaign submissions reported having their entire account disabled after sharing abortion information—primarily on Meta platforms. These take downs often happened without warning, contradicting Meta's own enforcement policies. https://www.eff.org/pages/meta-removing-abortion-advocates-accounts-without-warning
