@clowdersiege Kagi is my current favorite, they are paid but have Maps, Translate, the whole deal. DuckDuckGo is alright, but I usually haven't been satisfied with their search.

FUTO is great, I'm using their Android keyboard. It's a little quirky and its swipe typing is not amazing but it's way better than any other open source keyboard I've used. They also make Grayjay, a client for YouTube and other sites that lets you get around tracking and ads as much as you like.

Zoho has some really good Office suite style things.

If you're technically inclined, yunohost helps a lot with all the open source self-hosted stuff out there

@aires Personally I'd just use a PC or something like a Synology NAS to do those backups. Then you can just sync the folders onto your new device whenever your old one dies.

@noah I think this might be a problem of the stupid "serverless" cloud buzzword. That's what it's called when people make an app that's not running until a request comes in for it, then it's launched on-demand. It's "serverless" because it doesn't have an allocated virtual machine sitting there all the time waiting to do something.

Realistically that just means it's not "serverless" it's "on-demand application containers", but buzzwords will be buzzwords.

@wawik Personally I've never had an interview start off like that, it's always been like the latter case: some screening calls, some interviews and teleconferences about my relevant skills. That's really weird.
