Be kind to others.

Thread.

Q: “Republicans enact policies that hurt their own constituents.

So why do people vote for them?”

A: It has to do with the purpose of government.

For some people, purpose of government is to help people. We think fairness is possible and the government's job is to create fairness.

Others have a different view.

They think there’s a natural order: Some people belong on top; others at the bottom.

They think people with money and power deserve their money and power.

I'm curious about the extent of political diversity in the mainstream Fediverse.

If you're in the U.S, which is the best match for your political identity?

Please boost.

The CEO-to-worker pay gap is now 351-to-1. In 1965, the ratio was 21-to-1. Trickle down economics is nothing more than a cruel hoax designed to enrich bankers and wealthy executives.
More like Justice Aleako am I right

Removed the bird app from my phone. I just like the Mastodon #Algorithm better.

(There is no algorithm.)

As I noted on the failing bird, Garland's cited recent developments, plural, in appointing a Special Counsel yesterday.

The more urgent development is probably the GOP majority in Congress, not Trump.

We know, eg, that Scott Perry is almost certainly a subject of the investigation (they already seized his phone). If Jim Jordan is, too, that by itself would require the SCO, since Jordan will be HJC Chair demanding info on investigation.

Another #mastodon tip!

Mastodon #search functionality is purposely limited.

If you want to engage with people on a topic, use #hashtags, like the old days of the #birdsite, throw the # on any relevant topic #keyword in your posts. this will help others find your #content

If you don't want to engage with more people on something, don't. and, if you really want to keep interactions limited, you can always change the post visibility settings to "followers only"

Do 'unlisted' posts still show up in follower's timelines?

Mastodon needs some sort of 'threaded' post option that doesn't show up in public or personal timelines (unless boosted). Is that even feasible?

For those new to mastodon...

There is no algorithm there. (for better or worse, mostly better)

Boosts are the *only* way that a post will get more visibility.

Bookmarks = I'd like to find this again in the future

Star/favorite = I read this, and it didn't suck.

Boost = more people should see this.
