Remember in the 90s when computers screamed every time we connected them to the Internet, and we just thought they were overreacting?

The local baker has red hair.

Victoria and Graphite seem like some of the many alternative options to reference Prometheus for metrics.

Seems like everyone uses Grafana for their UIs despite its sins however.

Them: "Consider what having to comply with the GDPR means for small and mid-sized businesses!"

Me: "Consider what having small and mid-sized businnesses not complying with the GDPR means for all of us!"

I'm so tired of discussing digital privacy primarily from the point of view of companies, as businesses have always done and many politicians are increasingly doing.

We're talking about a human right! Our right! Don't let them frame it any other way!

What do people like for observing their #homelab these days? Is Grafana/Prometheus still "the thing"? (god I hate running them for work) or is there a better choice for high level health checks

Anyone succeeding with a #reMarkable tablet and archiving notes to Linux for archival storage? Loathe to go in on another notes platform with a proprietary format, even if it’s a good one. #Boox seems like the better forwards compatibility buy for reading PDFs and taking notes

Given a way to do HTTP you can talk to a k8s cluster, poke oneshot pods in or talk to kubeflow or whatever and now you have a bridge back to running arbitrary code.
This boils down to just four features that have to have magical Starlark runtime support, all of which I expected. Add support for sending HTTP requests and you're basically off to the races.
