The NYTimes today published a piece showing that this newly elected GOP Congressman from NY fabricated most of the life story he told on the campaign trail. The fact that this statement on his behalf ends with a fake Churchill quote is just...I mean come on now...if I wrote it in a piece of fiction you'd give me a stern talking to about how hamfisted that detail was.
Today, I voted to pass the Puerto Rico Status Act to give Puerto Ricans the right to determine their own political future. This progress has been long in the making, and I hope the Senate will move quickly to give Puerto Ricans the self-determination they deserve.
Today a federal court ruled that the "Stop WOKE Act" violated the First Amendment and said it was "Orwellian." Florida's response: "freedom through censorship." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ron-desantis-stop-woke-act-blocked-florida-judge/

One thing that's getting a little lost in this mix, is that some of the people desperately holding on at Twitter are because they are trapped by either healthcare or visas.

That there are systemic traps that trap workers in America so they feel unable to move freely to new employers who want them and would have better pay or conditions is *nuts* and deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

Mitch McConnell—who is in an interracial marriage—just voted no on codifying interracial marriage.

If this is what MAGA GOP thinks about their own spouses, imagine what they think of Black & brown people unrelated to them.

I just presented Art Spiegelman with the National Book Award Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, on the same day that PENAmerica put out a letter signed by Art and Margaret Atwood and me, among others, protesting the latest round of book bannings.

Yup. Like @[email protected] said last year: "It is fundamentally wrong for the United States government to recognize workers and deem them essential, yet deny them legal protections and status at the same time." Let's get this done. https://twitter.com/JDBalartMSNBC/status/1592584998703489026

More Twitter employees are publicly criticizing Elon for making up stories about how Twitter works and getting fired.

It’s becoming a wave of mass insubordination with Twitter engineers going out in a blaze of glory.

Every time I think this acquisition can’t get worse, it does.
