@phocks @ash I'm going to head over to a specific academic instance for a little bit, thanks so much for all you are doing here for the Brisbane Mastodonians and I'll see you both around.
Canada's Facebook news ban, the #Voice referendum, #Robodebt, and that Facebook study: I've just updated the blog with some recent podcasts and opinion pieces (also featuring @qutdmrc colleagues @antmandan and @EssiDeh)...

Their own departmental consultation report states an overwhelming majority want the school to remain at the current site or at least in catchment. Our own independent consultation (which they also cite in their report) says the same. Yet they instead choose to just forge on with whatever they want to do despite us standing firm and saying no. https://eastbrisbaneoptions.engagementhq.com/87233/widgets/412820/documents/265085

Skunkhour put it best:

The progress that eats the soul of the past
Demolished, lost and rebuilt
Dehumanised, regimented

These people are sick and twisted, ripping the heart of a community out and feeding it back to us like it's some kind of win. #auspol #qldpol
Does Translink make a point of using the most aggressive stop/go drivers on the 66 route? I get whiplash every time I'm forced to take this route, absolutely zero chill amongst these drivers.

🎙 I've had the pleasure of participating as a guest panellist on this Centre for Responsible Technology podcast, talking mostly about that article about the #VoiceToParliament campaigns that my @qutdmrc colleague @antmandan and I published in @guardianaus the other week:

So @antmandan and I just published some thoughts in @guardian on the #Voice campaign on social media to date. Featuring our Social Media Lab (Toronto Met) / @qutdmrc PoliDashboard and @adms work on Facebook advertising campaigns in particular.

The yes voice campaign cannot afford to be drawn in to a rearguard battle with its opponents

To regain momentum it could return to the fundamental aims of the voice, and by appealing to Australians’ sense of honour and justice
