@Lolra Sorry for not replying! I hope you enjoyed Japan. I was there for a month this summer, which was great.

I've not really used guides in Japan so probably can't help too much. If you go to Hokkaido (recommended in winter) then stay at Lodge Furen in the east. The owner Takeyoshi may be able to guide and can certainly provide a lot of advice.

I didn't expect to see a White-crowned Sparrow at Girdle Ness today, but here we are. Found by Raymond Duncan at Torry Battery at 9am but only IDed later. I refound it by the allotments just after 3pm. Something like the 12th British record?
