Constantly reviewing books on goodreads.com/annarchism
@solar_chase Spotted you in Here Comes The Sun by Bill McKibben!
I hadn't realised until I read this just how insanely destructive Putin's war on Ukraine has become. https://archive.is/20250603084857/https://www.economist.com/international/2025/06/02/putins-sickening-statistic-1m-russian-casualties-in-ukraine
Baffled yet charmed by spotify advertising the concept of libraries to me as if they've just been invented. I went to the library yesterday!
Watching series 2 of Castlevania: Nocturne. So far not as compelling as the first, but definitely has its moments.
I'm fascinated by this novel having -1 library reservations somehow.
This evening I tackled my first Hello Fresh recipe and it turned out really tasty despite the fact I made it! Double cheese ratatouille pasta al forno.
I finished my goodreads review of 2024! Favourite novels & nonfiction of the year attached. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7040517760
Anna's review of 2024 on Goodreads

5/5: Well, 2025 is here! 2024 has been harsher for me than 2023, as I've spent too much of it in some kind of pain and/or worrying about work. Today I went to see a replica Saxon longship that is being painstakingly built with Saxon-era tools & materials. It's magnificent! https://saxonship.org/the-project/
The Project - The Sutton Hoo Ship's Company

Long long ago, an Anglo-Saxon noble was buried within a 90 foot ship in a mound at Sutton Hoo, just across the river from Woodbridge, in Suffolk. He was almost…

The time has come: I'm finally giving up Duolingo. It keeps adding new gamification tweaks to incentivise spending more time using it, includes increasingly nonsensical sentences, and tries to strong-arm me into downloading a new app. I particularly hate that now you can't stay in the same league for more than a week, either getting promoted or demoted. In short, it's not fun anymore! So I'm quitting now that I've achieved a 1500 day streak. Dear owl, we had some good times. 안녕히 계세요
My local library has a delightful wheeze whereby you pick a wrapped surprise book from under the Christmas tree! I chose this one.
