Just a presence for now

John Lamont: "support for independence and another independence referendum in Scotland is falling."

Will Mr Lamont be making a correction to the record about this?

I posted the petition https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/628746 following the SNP ScotGov taking the matter of a referendum to the Supreme Court.
I thought the party of independence would jump behind a motion that would at least highlight the issue, and get people behind it.
They did not. Instead of tens or hundreds of thousands, it had 15,000 signatures, no thanks to particular individuals who were more concerned with making themselves out to be Indy heroes and ignored the petitioner (me).
Disgusted with SNP.
Petition: Grant a Section 30 Order to enable a Scottish Independence Referendum

The UK Government should grant without delay a Section 30 Order under the Scotland Act to enable an independence referendum to take place in Scotland, to allow the Scottish people, who elected a Scottish Parliament with a clear majority on holding such, to express their democratic will.

I have just had the transcript of the debate following my Section 30 petition, that I made following the November 2022 Supreme Court decision. The petition had mixed support and 15,000 signatures, which at least forced a response, but a debate was also had in the house.

We got the usual abysmal responses from the Tory side, but this was also an Alba show. No SNP present. Disgusted.
You have now officially lost my vote.

This is a slap-down to the UK Government and the Scotland Office for a pathetic, if unsurprising response.
After a disappointing initial response from the independence movement, the petition recently reached its 10,000 threshold.
To maintain the pressure on the UK Government over independence, we have two months to left to get the petition to reach 100,000 to force debate in the House of Commons.
Will you now sign it if you have not already?
The UK Gov has responded to my Section 30 petition after it reached 10,000 signatures. The response came from The Scotland Office.
The response is a copy/paste of the UK Government's stance on independence & does not actually respond to the petition.
The Petitions Committee has, of its own accord, agreed: "the response did not directly address the request of petition... (we) have therefore written back to the Government to ask them to provide a revised response".

SNP MPs have attempted to get Wm to change the Scotland Act & enable Holyrood to call a referendum. This was voted down in the HoC. Labour abstained.

The S30 petition may well meet the same fate, but the attempt should be made, just as the SNP made the attempt today.

We either get what we should have by right, or UKParly refuses the people of Scotland as well as the politicians.

But we need the numbers to ask. It's at 4700.
