hi I'm on allproRoyal catchfly is pretty rare, due to habitat loss; there isn't a lot of rocky prairie or scrubby barren left. Red is an unusual color for a wildflower, since bees can't see it, but hummingbirds and butterflies can, and they l o v e i t! It gets its name from its habit of getting flies stuck to its sticky stem. It has enzymes to digest them, but doesn't get any nutrients from that, so maybe it kills for FUN.
