It’s always a pleasure to connect with our community around the world, which is why we’ll be at the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (#APRICOT2026) in Jakarta, Indonesia!

We are proud to have supported APRICOT for more than two decades, and we’ve got some great events lined up this year. Will we see you in Jakarta?

As we look ahead to 2026, the stakes have never been higher. The digital divide is widening, governments are fragmenting the Internet along national borders, and online security concerns are on the rise.

That’s why we’ve created our 2026 Action Plan, to help guide our work to defend a global, open Internet for everyone. Will you donate to help support our plan? https://donorportal.internetsociety.org/-/XCMRNEKL

Let's work together to build the Internet we want!

The Internet is no longer optional. It is vital to lives and livelihoods. However, 2.6 billion remain unconnected, and it's being fragmented along national borders, threatening innovation and global progress. Online security fears are rising fast. The stakes are high. Help bridge the digital divide and defend a global, open Internet for everyone by giving a donation today.

Internet Society

As the High-Level Meeting comes to a close, we are excited about the newly finalized negotiations around the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)+20 resolution.

The outcome lays the foundation for the next 10 years of work on Internet governance, supported by a permanent Internet Governance Forum and a framework that remains closely linked to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Hear more on today’s outcomes from our principal of Internet technology, policy, and advocacy, Olaf Kolkman.

Double your impact when you donate to the Internet Society! Donate now and our founding president, Vint Cerf, will match the first $25k in donations.

A gift of $47 can help us train a future Internet advocate. If you give now, that becomes two!

Cookie consent rules aren't the biggest barrier to privacy-preserving advertising technologies being widely used.

Ads without personal data are often blocked from being traded by intermediaries in the market.

So lowering regulation instead of enforcement isn't the answer to tackle intrusive tracking.

Today it's a mandatory digital ID card to prove you have the right to work but in the future you might have to use it to access the NHS, to rent or buy a home, or to access benefits.

We're in a cost of living crisis and Labour wants to bring in digital ID cards for everyone 🤡 They're risking turning the UK into a pre-crime state where we constantly have to prove who we are to go about our daily lives.
