When so much of Canada is on fire that you realize after commenting that the other person complaining about scratchy eyes and throat from smoke and particulate pollution might actually be in an entirely different part of the country.
Meanwhile still getting daily fire alerts from Australia (my brother lives in the bush and is a volunteer firefighter, I track fires near him via the very good app that NSW uses to keep people informed about fires near them and when to get out). Mostly small fires but Australia and North America's fire seasons started overlapping a while ago and it's only getting worse as global warming speeds up. This is a big problem because the Northern and Southern hemisphere share various firefighting resources (such as the largest waterbombers but also people since trained firefighters will help each other internationally when they can, we are desperately going to need more firefighters and trained emergency services people of various kinds, from medics to logistics, around the world as global warming and ecological collapse speeds up....we need to start training ourselves up to look after ourselves and each other).
(Wear N95 masks when outdoors people, they work to filter out particulates from air pollution like smoke and car exhaust! This is the type of pollution that causes longterm damage, stay as safe as you can!)
