Using a link shortener can improve your emails and documents. shlink makes long or ugly URLs much more convenient to use and share. Learn how to self-host shlink.

Whoa! $100K?? If true, it might be worth a year or two on an icy rock — as opposed to paradise in FL.

Ouch!
My #Mastodon server ran out of disk space (again...). Of course, you can add storage -- but I've found a better way.
Configure a swap file in case you need it for swapping. But also for emergency use.
Just swapoff, delete the swap file, then run tootctl to clean up, then new swap file and then swapon. But be sure to edit fstab to comment out swap file if you need to reboot.
Afterwards, reverse the steps.
Voila! No need to extend/add/resize partitions.
Big changes are coming to #Azure #storage. Soon, I predict, you'll be able to say goodbye to OG storage account containers.

What's that saying about "birds of a feather?"
Whew.
Finally back online with a spankin' new Mastodon instance.
Still, same address and .. the same ole Alex.
I spent days trying to update #Mastodon 4.4.8 to 4.5.0 but something was wrong...very wrong.
I think it was a database corruption but #PostgresSQL and I aren't really pals, so rebuild was the "easy" way out.
That old instance had been running, more or less without problems, since late 2022. So maybe it was time. But still, I wonder why the update from 4.4.8 broke it.
