The song is classic 1960s. Roy Orbison's, Pretty woman. What a voice that man had. Silky smooth, never stressed but oh so recognisable. Perhaps even unique
Here's a couple of rockers giving it their best effort - Bruce Springsteen and John Fogerty (remember Creedence Clearwater Revival?).
And wait for the bit where John sings alone. Spooky or what?
Friday again. This week a singer I came across about 15 years ago, Mariza
She sings in the style of Fado although her more recent material has moved away from the voice and guitar incorporating full orchestra. Historically a Portuguese guitar would have often accompanied a single voice
The style is mournful and often melancholic but the artistry comes in the singers ability to make it feel intimate and engaging

A few thoughts on mastodon:
*Retoot often.* The mastodon network is sparse. Many folks are new, and finding each other is complicated. If you see something you like, retoot it. You are the suggestion algorithm. Everyone benefits.
*Follow liberally.* We’re accustomed to timelines crammed with ads and unwanted posts. Even if you followed the same number of people as elsewhere, you’d see much less content on mastodon. So follow liberally; everything is more with friends.

Next Thursday (24th) there's a party in London organised by my publisher. I'm gonna be there, hopefully a load of similarly-minded folk. It's mostly a chance to socialise with a bunch of woke libtards and members of the Remoaniac Anti-Growth Coalition.

The problem with having so much money is that you can be in danger of losing perspective and really think that money solves everything
I have been posting similar toots asking people to think carefully about the impact on those who built and have used this platform for some time
My motivation is to say if we start with a bit of respect for the traditions and rituals of the club we are joining you stand a better chance of long term amicable relations
