If your home is haunted by the ghost of an atheist, exorcism doesn’t work. You need an embittered humanist to come and use sarcasm on it.
My neighbourhood is getting a record shop. Yay! … but my dirty little secret is that I don’t miss vinyl much
TIL that chicken of the woods does in fact taste very like chicken. I don’t know why I’m surprised by this

I know a lot of people gave up on Prettymaps (a gorgeous FOSS tool for creating beautiful cartography from #OSM data) a long time ago since it appeared to have been abandoned, and was extremely difficult to set up.

Fortunately, it looks like the maintainer has returned, with a refactor and a cool new preset feature for packaging up nice-looking configurations. It sounds like there will be a release tag once he works out the outdated vsketch dependency.

So... the plan is that Twitter's primary content creators - which are generally speaking: journalists, academics, artists, politically active left & right, & elected officials or people running for office - will be charged to create content that will be put behind a paywall?🤣 GL
Some ways to reduce clutter.
- Use filters.
If terms like blockchain, bitcoin, elon, etc tire/trigger/annoy you, filter them out. One of the first filters I set up was to mute ‘RT.’
- Make lists, and pin the ones that matter.
There will be some people you want to hear from regularly, others not so much.
- Mute
You can mute people for limited periods or indefinitely.
