This impressive medical advance has barely made the news.

Nothing on Reuters, Bloomberg, etc. even when backed by Nature. I got it from the BBC, by the way.

Now imagine for a second the media reaction if Elon Musk's Neuralink was able o achieve 10% of what this team has done.

Brain–spine interface allows paralysed man to walk using his thoughts

The device provides a connection between the brain and spinal cord, allowing thought to control movement.

I don’t exactly remember why chose the name Airavata for Mastodon. Now that I think about it, it makes sense that Airavata is the white elephant that carries Indra, the Vedic God of heavens and thunder; and this is an elephantimorphic platform.
OMG WTAF, Microsoft Outlook now allows reactions (thumbs up, hearts, etc.) to emails. Except I don't use the Outlook client. So once a day I get an automated email with all the reactions others gave to my emails. And now I have even more email.

Well, that was fun!

Just discovered my Microsoft password was leaked somewhere.

It's one thing when you see unsuccessful attempts at logging in.

It's another when your phone chimes and its a Microsoft Authenticator request you DID NOT ask for.

Again, I say to everyone who can read this:

TURN ON TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION ON EVERYTHING THAT SUPPORTS IT NOW!

Thinking back to the summer heatwave in the UK when everyone was “Our houses aren’t built for the heat, they’re designed to keep warm in winter”, and now everyone is “Our houses aren’t built for this cold”. Maybe time to admit that the UK has just been building homes for 100 years that are shit at *everything* aside from extracting rent from the poor.
Media and journalists like to write about @Mastodon and #fediverse but how many have actually included a link or button to share their content to the #fediverse ?
TIL: Sri Lanka’s first satellite was named Raavana 1.

I love it in here. There's currently a hashtag named #thicktrunktuesday that is basically pics of massive, beautiful trees.
I humbly submit El Tule, an incredible ahuehuete from the state I was born, Oaxaca. It's over 2000 years old. "Tule" means "Tree of Enlightment" #Oaxaca #Mexico #ElTule It has the thickest trunk in the world.
Folks on Mastodon looking down their noses at people who choose to be on Twitter still, scolding them for it, is not a very neighborly way to invite them to come here. There are many people still there I value greatly.
