đĽ Big update: the PeerTube co-op idea is taking off.
Yesterday I shared the proposal publiclyâand the response has been outstanding. Seven people have already stepped up to become founder-members, ready to build a member-owned, democratically governed alternative to corporate video platforms.
What started as a loose idea is now a real planâand credit goes to @Crissy for pushing me to turn the idea into a proper proposal.
Weâre at the early stages: talking with existing Fediverse co-ops, and Iâve reached out to the BC Co-op Association to guide us through incorporation. Next up: drafting bylaws, shaping governance, and laying a solid foundation together.
Once incorporated, member-owners will decide everythingâpolicies, hosting practices, monetization models. This isnât just another social media platform. Itâs a co-operative effort to build something transparent, resilient, and ours.
If this speaks to youâif you want to help shape a new, community-owned video platformâget in touch. This is how alternatives get built.

A good way to discover interesting accounts is to follow hashtags. When you follow a hashtag, posts with that tag will start appearing in your timeline even if you don't follow the post's author.
To follow a hashtag:
1. Search for a hashtag
2. Click on the specific hashtag you want from the suggestions
3. Click "Follow" button at the top
To manage your followed tags, go to your own profile page, click ⯠and then "Followed hashtags".
