Hell, yeah. After a decade of waiting, Mastodon finally has quote posts.

Even better? You can withdraw consent—so if someone quote-posts you out of context, you can shut that down. This alone should keep the vibes civil and the drama minimal.

Fingers crossed it plays nice with Akkoma and Misskey, which have had this feature for ages. Would be a shame if interoperability broke the party.

@trinsec I’m not tracking their dev logs. But the opt-out thing didn’t exist till recently whereas quotes have existed on the Fediverse for a long, long time.

Would be nice if they implemented that feature, though.
