NVIDIA driver 545.29.02 out for Linux plus other releases due to security issues

NVIDIA today launched four new Linux graphics drivers, yes four. 545.29.02 is the bigger one with all the new stuff, but they also launched 535.129.03, 525.147.05 and 470.223.02 due to newly disclosed security issues.

It has taken some time for them to discover the existence of the Fediverse, but now that AdAge has written about it and marketers feel compelled to join, we can see that the hype train is starting to build up.

I'm not stating whether this is positive or negative, but it is certainly something worth noting.

Whenever there is a buzz, opportunistic individuals tend to emerge, and that's simply the way things are.

However, what truly matters once everything settles down is whether the Fediverse is genuinely successful in preventing any one entity from monopolizing social media.

X (formerly Twitter) is introducing supposedly unblockable ads. They have also implemented a "feature" where you cannot report these ads.

Interestingly, X does not reveal the sources behind these ads. According to Mashable, the content being promoted in these ads resembles spam and low-quality "chumbox" advertising. These are usually clickbait ads found at the bottom of posts on content farm sites, as popularized by native ad networks like Taboola.

It seems that X is resorting to these measures because they are unable to secure premium advertisers.
