@rombat @AE4WX @technodad @ai6yr same plus a collapsible mast, weight and throw line for a tree, etc. Redundant antennas and deploy approaches. All in a backpack ready to grab. Was my regular POTA setup but I haven’t done that in over a year.
@exador23 @ai6yr wonder how “extended” that is because that stretch of interstate is already terrible with freight traffic in this area. That detour route is going to be a nightmare if it runs through tomorrow.
@ai6yr wire up a tree is one of my go-to POTA setups. One of my brag stories is hitting Italy from my front yard on 20 watts using speaker wire
@ai6yr I forgot to reply to this the other day but that is awesome! I’ve tried a slinky before but never experimented that much. I know a local ham who used metal window blinds before and made some DX contacts
@iembot_mrx @ai6yr this was valuable just before 3am when my phone was waking me up with a severe thunderstorm warning last night. It was far easier to find this here than to pull up the MRX page online. Thank you again!
@ai6yr 😂 did you do anything to tune it? How much power did you put through it?

Walking the Titanic in 4K.

This is simply stunning. And sad. But holy cow the amount of work that must have gone into this is mind numbing. A couple thoughts:

• The spittoons in the smoking room? YUK.
• The entire mail room at the 15 min mark? WOW.
• The teeny tiny living spaces for the crew. Crazy.

@ai6yr @lckrohjr @iembot_mrx I appreciate this so much! No worries on any delay. This was just a request for potential future use. Fortunately the weather passed through here this afternoon much faster than I thought it would. We are definitely in tornado season though so I am going to get some value from this. Thank you again!
@ai6yr @lckrohjr that would be awesome! No rush for today. I was just thinking it would be great to fill that gap for myself here on Mastodon and you seemed to already have that in motion. Let me know if/when that comes online. If you'd rather someone contribute or PR it somewhere I could likely help too.
