#minipainting
@JHein Since it's only about 4 inches overhang, a backing board (even cardboard) should be fine. Might be worth clamping so an errant knee won't fling the minis.
Playing on the floor would not be great ofc.
Some people print dungeons small and print/sketch rooms for battle separately.
Could also just use a couple foldable tables for gaming night, but again I understand if that won't work for you.
A novel approach is putting some of the map on a *tall* riser board above the main piece.
@pandoriafalls Find a comfortable balance between the minimal specs of your audience (hardware survey data) and the minimal specs you are willing to test and deploy for. Have a test device with those specs to make sure that it runs.
Profiling your game's system usage and framerates can also identify if it might fit on weaker systems too. It's more art than science with no one size fits all approach.
@dulvui Reminds me of an old quote about telescopes:
[Thompson's Rule for First-Time Telescope Makers] It is faster to make a four-inch mirror and then a six-inch mirror than to make a six-inch mirror.
@LeoSandbox Worst in what sense? Disco Elysium's is the *worst* in a great nuanced way.
Then you've got unlikables like Sergey Nechaev and blands like Aiden Pearce. There's also the immorals like the Factorio engineer or Silent Hill 2's villain.
And then you've got main characters with the worst controls, like in Super Mario 64.
