@DJGummikuh it definitely won't help the situation - as it passes through the hot end the water inside will get turned to steam causing pressure spikes which will force the filament both out of the nozzle and back up into it. I suspect that back pressure might be making things worse for you.

@DJGummikuh silk PLA is always a pain in my experience. Have you made sure the filament is totally dry? I've found it tends to absorb moisture a lot more easily than other filaments
