Let's talk about culture shock. I'm in what I'm going to call "the end of the world Mexico". They do not have running water to their homes because the pump in the tower blew up or something. This means they have large covered/uncovered containers of water outside. They use the uncovered one to "wash" their hands... they have dish pans outside where they wash dishes and that water is cold and they don't change it throughout the day.
I never thought I was a germaphobe but I'm rethinking that.
@randahl that's my question. If anything good could come from Trump's disaster of presidency, I hope it is people realizing how fast things can go from 0 to all the way messed up in a fraction of a second. Then maybe people will pay closer attention and hold elected officials accountable. But the legal system needs to change.
If Mexico managed to change how their version of SCOTUS functioned, we could do that here, especially considering they shouldn't have the power they gave themselves.
@Infoseepage so, I've heard/seen/read that France has a bakery on nearly every corner. Is that true? I also read it's because, while you can get it at the supermarket (just like the US) people of France prefer the bakeries as they aren't processing the "bread" out and leaving customers with ... A sort of foam that doubles as an emergency candle!
@Infoseepage they do something similar in Mexico! 1 is a street sign in Merida Mexico and the other is just a screenshot from a Google search of "town and city signs in Mexico". However, I doubt they have a solid white one anywhere. That's just beautiful!
@Infoseepage tell me about it! Currently planning a move to Mexico from the US and I can tell you one thing, people are not nearly as free in the US as the US has constantly claimed they are. I'm still blown away by the hoops and flaming fireballs they try to use to keep people in as much as out.
@Infoseepage @randahl I LOVE IT when people use history as it was meant to be used! Thank you! However we can see from the current admin in the US that the people we consider "worthy" of being the Lords over the peons don't seem to take history classes.
@randahl but doesn't it change things? She gave the PEACE PRIZE to a man who has allowed and excused zip-typing children & then lied for those responsible. That doesn't sound like a "freedom fighter" to me. And I'm speaking as a mom who has watched my child sob over losing his friends, important things (we can't fit in our car for our move) from people he loves and probably will never see alive again due to their age.
If she okays treating people in the US this way, why wouldn't she do it?
TL;DR: Google is appealing a federal court ruling that designated it as an illegal online search monopolist and is seeking to pause the court-ordered remedies aimed at fostering competition in the search market. https://www.theverge.com/news/863710/google-search-antitrust-monopoly-appeal #law #tech #legaltech ⚖️ 🤖 #autosum

@rbs @Vorinstanz what does it mean to host it myself? I'm moving to Mexico on Wednesday so I'm not sure about having Internet connection where I'll be. (The backside of nowhere is a description I've heard of the specific area).
@VestigialLung is there stolen music bits in this one? I try to watch for that type of thing. My Daddy actually hand wrote music, but it was gospel music. He had one to actually go to number 1 on gospel charts called Teardrops but he had lost his voice by then and sold the lyrics to a group called Tony Gore and Majesty or the Majesty. When I listened to this one the first time, I didn't know it was AI. I assumed the lyrics were actually written by a person and the music was created by AI.
