Did I have several other things to do today? Yes, but the "WHO says aspartame is a possible carcinogen!" discourse was driving me bananas so I did lil a reporting to explain why Diet Coke lovers should not be panicking about the IARC's ruling.

If you're gonna avoid aspartame, do it because it tastes like ass!! Not because a NON-Food safety agency said there is a chance based on limited evidence that aspartame could cause cancer for some people.

You don’t have to freak out about aspartame in your diet soda

A recent Reuters report says the IARC, an agency of the WHO, will declare aspartame is a possible carcinogen next month. However, the IARC is not a food safety agency, and context matters.

Yes they stole the design but iOS 6 was by far the best iOS design ever. Everything was so well thought-out, you knew what you could interact with and what was just there for status. Maaaaaaan I miss iOS 6. Don’t forget, it wasn’t flat bullshit that made Apple the gold standard for UI design.

Juneteenth (June 19th) is not a "holiday celebrating when news of the end of slavery finally reached Texas." No. Just no. Y'all make it sound like network latency! Like we were playing Fortnite, and all the Black players were lagging.🤡

Juneteenth is when the racist state of Texas took another very public L. Texas did everything it could to keep slavery going as long as possible. They gave up land to Oklahoma, so they could be below the slavery line. The Alamo was a victory for abolitionists.

Irish author James Joyce begins a relationship with Nora Barnacle and subsequently uses the date to set the actions for his novel Ulysses; this date is now traditionally called "Bloomsday" in honour of the novel's main character Leopold Bloom #OTD in 1904.

The first mention of such a celebration is to be found in a letter by Joyce to Miss Weaver of 27 June 1924, which refers to "a group of people who observe what they call Bloom's day – 16 June." via @Wikipedia

The sad thing about the #Reddit meltdown is how this will continue to erode the open web.

Corporations have tried to take the internet for themselves for many years. As many have noticed search is broken on the internet. Search engine optimization has made real information difficult to find among the ads and clickbait.

With Reddit gone finding actual answers to your questions will send you to youtube where you won't get to filter out the hate and misinformation.

As the subreddit blackout begins, I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Reddit community and everyone standing up ❤️ Let's hope Reddit listens. https://www.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/147a8xb/as_the_subreddit_blackout_begins_i_wanted_to_say/
