I'm halfway through Second Place. It's the first novel I've read by Cusk but I'm a huge fan of her non-fiction. This is an interesting book... I'm still not sure where it's going. It seems like an elusive character analysis of sorts without a solid plot... I thought it was going to be one kind of story when I started but then it became something totally different. I'm still very intrigued.

I've been feeling bit out of sorts lately so yesterday i carved out 2 hrs and took myself on a date to my favourite place in the world- the art gallery. It's the only public place where I am totally at ease and grounded. I sat in my favourite room and wrote and wrote and filled my cup until it was brimming. It was perfect. Bought myself a new "writing bag" today. I named it this so that I could justify its purchase. It is so roomy and has 3 zippered sections. Fits laptop, ipad, books, fridge, dishwasher, and phone. It would have been a crime not to buy it and surely I wouldn't be able to write without it. Words of encouragement appreciated.
