A beautiful winter day here in Tucson hiking King Canyon in the Tucson Mountains with my daughter's hiking club. We saw a lot of Selaginella arizonica, Notholaena, and Astrolepis. Happily, the hand lens got a lot of use by the kids!
Congratulations to a postdoc in the lab, Justin Conover, on being the winner of this year's Plant + Animal SMRT Grant award to sequence the allotetraploid coffee genome with HiFi. He received the award together with @jsharbro It should be an especially stimulating genome!
