'We have developed OpenFold, a complete open-source reimplementation of AlphaFold2 that includes training code and data. By training OpenFold from scratch and matching the accuracy of AlphaFold2, we have demonstrated the reproducibility of the AlphaFold2 model for protein structure prediction. Furthermore, the OpenFold implementation introduces technical advances over AlphaFold2, including markedly faster prediction speed.'

The University of Edinburgh
Hi! I need help with #domestication in #mammals. What would be for you a common sense demographic history for domestication in pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, horse and donkeys? I've realized that there is no empirical evidence for the "traditional" strong bottleneck without migration (between domestic and wild animals) during the Neolithic Revolution (10,000 years ago). In pigs the demography is mind-blowing, with introgression with a ghost wild boar.
Seriously, when the ensemble makes the audience laugh - with the music, not commentary - you know they’re doing it right. #HistoricalPerformance #BaroqueMusic #EarlyMusic
A pleasant surprise at an excellent concert this afternoon - I performed with one of the violinists when we were in college! It was great to catch up with her. This ensemble is performing historically informed #Baroque music like it was meant to be played, they’re making it exciting and vivid and fun.

Me, writing work emails after reading #JaneAusten:

“My dear Dr. Dashwood—
I trust that you and your graduate students remain in good health. Praise for your latest article is on everyone’s lips. I have not the smallest wish to vex you, but circumstances compel me to trouble you for a meeting. There is not a moment to be lost. I flatter myself that you will endeavour to fill out this Whenisgood poll before Michaelmas.
Until then I remain,
Your humble servant— S.” 🪶

I wanted to advertise a postdoc position in beautiful Norwich, that is for 3+2 years.
We are looking for a bioinformatician, or someone who wants to become one. In the post we will investigate gut metagenomes using 3rd gen sequencing, deep learning, to investigate pan genomes and microbial adaptation, mostly using human gut time series of various host ailments.

Please retoot or send to interested parties, thanks!
