People rely on these platforms for public information, use them for democratic debate and many invest their livelihoods in them.
These platforms are too important to public safety, peoples’ livelihoods and democracy to leave in the hands of eccentric billionaires or the whims of stock markets.
If Twitter goes belly up maybe people will start supporting their local news again. I can't remember the last time I bought a newspaper or turned on the 10:00 news

I'm seeing a lot of people on twitter saying they can't figure out anything on Mastodon. It's starting to sound like my dad calling everyday saying he can't open his emails or he can't connect to the internet or some other mysterious "its broken" thing. #usererror

Wow these #introduction are amazing and a little intimidating but here I go.I'm an average girl with an average 9 to 5 job. I live in a blue county (which I work for) within a red state.
Saying I love to learn new things is so cliche but I really do. I've recently remodel my house learning electrical, plumbing, drywall and cabinetry along the way. I'm currently dabbling in wood working and I'm teaching myself how to sew.
I'm excited to explore what the fediverse has to offer.
