A proud introvert who wants to socialize in a safe environment. I left my whopping 39 followers on the Bird app hoping to meet some interesting people here.
@JeremyNewberger I'm surprised to find you here. Thought you would be too busy with Don and that Mast

A pair of great horned owls gets ready for the nightly hunt, right before sunset.

@mokumphoto Beautiful. Love this!
@pbinkley I read a NYT article today about armed protesters basically shutting down opposition by intimidation. It made me think about your post so I came back here to read the link like I should have before commenting. I see now. It's a little frightening and definitely something to think on.
@natania @TexBirdie I just finished Razorblade Tears and loved it. Thanks again.
@pbinkley I don't see it as being forced out. Twitter was a place I wanted to be and now it's a place I don't want to be. It's a choice to move on to something else that fits my needs. If the choice is taken away it becomes forced.
@natania @TexBirdie Thank you for the recommendation! I just purchased Razorblade Tears. I love reading too but I like to have an audible when I'm driving or working.
@TexBirdie @natania Do you have any suggestions? I like to listen to audible true crime books but I'm in a slump right now. I can't find any good ones.

The collapse of Twitter for (basically) self-inflicted reasons makes a strong case for building online infrastructure structured as a non-profit or public utility.

People rely on these platforms for public information, use them for democratic debate and many invest their livelihoods in them.

These platforms are too important to public safety, peoples’ livelihoods and democracy to leave in the hands of eccentric billionaires or the whims of stock markets.

If Twitter goes belly up maybe people will start supporting their local news again. I can't remember the last time I bought a newspaper or turned on the 10:00 news
