Behold the Crazy #Cognitive Decline.

#jaketapper you’re up!

Haha yeah cool how #Qantas has had a data breach. Husband spent a month a year or more back trying to get them to delete his Frequent Flyer account and they insisted that once you have a FF account you can't get it deleted. "Too bad, we have your data and we may lose it". The flying fuckeroo.

@lauren exactly right. After the Australian MyGov team rolled out passkeys they discovered that many folks living in remote parts of Australia don’t have phone coverage and access internet via shared computers at community centres. They weighed giving every Australian a YubiKey as it would be cheaper than sending 2FA codes via SMS. Ultimately, they left passwords as an option.
Somebody needs to create an “Open to Espionage” badge for LinkedIn

An iPhone app called ICEBlock, which allows anyone to lawfully and anonymously report ICE sightings and get notified about nearby ICE agents, went viral overnight after criticism from the US Attorney General.

FYI: The app doesn't collect or store user data. (I checked by doing a network traffic analysis of the app.)

Sometimes, I receive questions which leave both me, and the person asking, bamboozled.

> Your website loads so quickly! What CDN do you use?

There is no CDN. It is just really small and simple, mostly text.

> Sure, but is that Cloudflare, or...?

None. It is a tiny website, just a few kilobytes per page, on a tiny server, at my home, connected to the Internet via my ISP, Andrews & Arnold.

> But are you / they in the cloud?

No. The webserver is in Newbury, in my garage.

> Neil, please can you pass my questions to your technical person? I don't think you understand, your website cannot be in your home. It must be in the cloud or have a CDN.

*Neil puts on glasses and false nose and moustache*

Extremely ridiculous that there’s moves to ban teens from social media but not from using AIs as substitute therapists, partners and best friends

Sent a pull request to Audacity fixing a crash bug I'd been running into frequently. The cause was an out-of-bounds memmove. Classic C++ areas.

Anyway I got a fucking copilot review on my PR which left two comments, both completely wrong, one of which suggesting I reintroduce the out of bounds memory access. I'm furious!
