@tdrummon yes. My department (I’m a former chair) has always enjoyed the freedom of individualistic course design. The surveys are roughly the same with varied teaching methods. But new upper level courses are not strictly controlled

@TimVantilborgh especially in a time where what we do is increasingly questioned and threatened by administrators and politicians. Our writing should be more accessible to non-academic readers without compromising academic standards.
